Brian and Andy are inseparable, almost like twins. But the boys live in wartime London and Brian?s real twin brother has been killed in the Blitz. Then, one night, Brian sees a stray enemy aircraft being shot down and he is almost certain he sees the glimmer of a falling parachute. The Home Guard are alerted, but a thorough search of the area reveals no German airman. No one seems to believe his story but Brian is almost sure that he saw the parachute - if only he could find some shred of solid evidence? This is an exciting and thoughtful adventure story, full of sparks of lively wit and humour. The atmosphere of wartime England - both city and countryside - is vividly conveyed.
