Around 100 projects built during the last fifteen years have been chosen to represent an architectural tradition of great quality and innovation. The projects described and illustrated here are predominantly the work of young architects working within a context of prosperity and relatively cheap and plentiful land - Norway has a fraction of the population density of most European countries. Recent Norwegian architecture has been dominated by the themes of infrastructure and travel, connecting the country's regions and offsetting the domination of Oslo and the uniquity of single-family houses, in a country where anyone with a little spare money can build their dream home.
