About the Author:

A healer by day and a writer by night, Monica McDowell is a certified Reiki Master who has spent countless hours meditating on the virtues of chai lattes and chocolate. She lives with her family in Seattle, Washington, in the Pacific Northwest, where slugs reign supreme and are celebrated with their very own Slug Fest. Monica McDowell has the distinction of being the first ordained minister in the USA granted civil rights by a federal ruling. Her first book, My Karma Ran Over My Dogma: Lessons Learned by a Whistle-Blowing Minister Turned Mystic (2007), is a narrative of her journey through these precedent-setting legal events into life-changing mysticism and a luminous spirituality.
