About the Author:
Steve Henry got the idea for Nobody Asked Me! while kitten-sitting for the real-life Bo and Tiger, who were just getting acquainted. "A year before, Bo had been rescued from under a parked car during a rainstorm. He'd become extremely comfortable in his new home," Steve Henry explains. "Then Tiger came along to stay. Poor Bo wondered what had happened, but after a week he started bouncing and pouncing around the house -- playing with his new little brother." The artist sketched a drawing of the active pair, which later became the jacket art for his First picture book.

A graduate of Pratt Institute, Steve Henry lives in New York City.

From School Library Journal:
reS-This book adequately deals with the popular subject of adjusting to a new baby. Bo, "an only cat," likes his life. He sleeps, plays, eats, and sleeps some more. Then one day, a little brother shows up and disrupts his schedule. However, Bo discovers that "you do need two for a good game of hide-and-seek," and that he can "get used to this big brother thing." Brightly colored cartoon illustrations show the brothers' antics, including playing "skyscraper" on top of the refrigerator. The simple text is suitable for reading aloud to very young children. The amusing pictures are full of energy and motion, but the story doesn't compete with the charm of the sibling relationship portrayed in Rosemary Wells's stories about Max and Ruby and the humor of Kevin Henkes's Julius, the Baby of the World (Greenwillow, 1990).
