From Publishers Weekly:
Writing in response to letters from his many fans, Bowersox, QVC's in-house chef, here shares his secrets for preparing appealing meals in 10 minutes or less. Many of the recipes are family favorites. The dishes incorporate varieties of hot and cold soups, stews, tasty pastas, flavorful seafood, chicken, meat dishes and creative desserts. Bowersox challenges cooks to accept a certain amount of discipline while at work in the kitchen, and at the same time reap the rewards of a seductive meal. He presents a number of worthwhile strategies. The most helpful is his emphasis on efficiently organized time. A time-managed approach to cooking will, he demonstrates, enhance all that happens in the kitchen. Bowersox urges cooks to prep all recipe items before cooking, arrange all ingredients on the workspace in the order in which they will be used, keep on hand extra cans of beef and chicken stocks and maintain sharp cutlery for faster work. Bearing all of this in mind, cooks should be cautioned that while the idea of duplicating one of Bowersox's 10-minute meals seems alluring, one should not sacrifice taste for haste. Author tour.
