Gr 4 Up --Highlights of science, technology, mathematics, and current environmental concerns are explored in a brief question-and-answer format. While there are many enticing and thought-provoking questions with clear, concise answers, major flaws exist. There are blatant omissions, incomplete or confusing answers, and the whole is poorly organized. Advances in biology, zoology, and medicine are omitted. Major contributions by minorities are also neglected. All questions are answered in a single paragraph, which is too brief for the complexity of some of the subjects. The ten organizational categories are at times arbitrary and confusing. ``Computers'' are under ``Electricity,'' while ``Communications'' falls under ``Transportation.'' There is also a hodgepodge category of miscellanea called ``Who, What, Where, When, Why, How?'' Generally, the illustrations are bountiful, clear, and colorful photographs or drawings that complement the text.
