While the book is well designed and accurate, its coverage is not as complete as Brenda Lewis's Stamps! (Dutton, 1991). Birdwatching covers equipment, ways to attract and observe birds, tips for identifying different species, their characteristics and types, and ways for enthusiasts to advance their skills. Both books have full-color photographs and illustrations on every page and special boxed "hints" throughout the texts. Topics are limited to two to four pages.
