About the Author:
Sally Hunter worked on greetings cards before developing Humphrey and launching the first title in Autumn 1999. As a character, Humphrey can be seen on cards and stationery, as beautiful soft toys and nursery clothes and bedding in every Mothercare store, as well as in the Humphrey picture books, making him a high profile character. Sally lives in Hertfordshire with her three children.

PreSchool-K--A young elephant and his fun-loving family are back in another endearing story. It's Humphrey's birthday and he is excited about his upcoming party. He is thrilled with his presents from his family, especially a blue-and-yellow superhero suit with a red cape. He puts on the costume and greets his party guests. The day passes quickly and the only mishap occurs when Humphrey's sister jumps into the wading pool and accidentally splashes him. Their mother saves the day by explaining that even superheroes sometimes get wet, and everyone enjoys a tasty meal and cake. The whimsical watercolor-and-pencil illustrations are done in warm, pastel tones. With their rounded bodies and slightly awkward posture, the characters look like stuffed toys.
