The illustrations are in lifelike colors throughout the book, which includes a model plane and accessories, with step-by-step directions on assembling the parts as depicted. The job takes about 45 minutes, according to the text, and requires no glue.

Grade 3-6 The small print and highly detailed nature of this pop-up book make it most appropriate for older elementary students who are keenly interested in aircraft, although the illustrations alone will appeal to a younger audience. Aerodynamic concepts are enhanced through some of the pop-up models, while other models, such as the undercarriage, exist merely for entertainment. These ten pages are crammed with information. A build-your-own model plane is included, but it can be removed without damaging the book. The book's British origin is obvious from the spelling of several words.Rocco A.
