When people first encounter my book they ask me about the photographs. "How do you get people to pose like that," they ask? Then quickly, they usually say, "But I know they're not posed. They are so natural and interesting. Like people I would like to meet." Later, people discover the words, the poetry, and they begin to make connections between the photos and the words. That is when Coloring The Wind comes alive in the reader's experience. And that is why they keep "reading" it over and over again.

About the Author:

David Young has had more than 150 photos published in various magazines, including five book covers. A photograph of his two day old granddaughter won the best Color Photograph of the Show at the Kentucky State Fair in 1994. Another photo of her won second place for color photographs of children at the 1995 Fair. For five years he did photointerpretation work for the Mission Interpretation and Promotion group of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
