The frequent storms acted as a discouragement to many of the Erie fishermen, consequently when the blue pike season arrived most of the fishermen had taken up their nets; nevertheless those that remained did their best to secure as all the eggs possible, with the result that we succeeded in hatching or less than the previous year.
