Beyond the Glass Slipper: Ten Neglected Fairy Tales to Fall in Love With, is an outgrowth of my work as publisher and editor of Enchanted Conversation: A Fairy Tale Magazine at fairytalemagazine.com. As the site grew, so did my interest in going beyond "the usual suspects" when it comes to fairy tales. What's more, because I teach about fairy tales and publish so many new fairy tales, I wanted fairy tale fans to look beyond the obvious and question why we interpret fairy tales the way we do. Also, why not take a closer look at less famous, but delightful and scary and weird tales? From these thoughts, Beyond the Glass Slipper was born.This book is for fairy tale fans, writers, book clubs, teachers, and students. There are tidbits, oddities and surprises in these pages for all.
