Illustrator Gilbert Ford shows us the evolution of the opening pages of Mr. Ferries And His Wheel. Conveying a bustling 1890's Chicago street while leaving space for author Kathryn Gibbs Davis' story took a few sketches, but the final picture is just perfect.
