About the Author:
Frederick Bettelheim was a distinguished university research professor at Adelphi University and a visiting scientist at the National Eye Institute. He co-authored seven editions of INTRODUCTION TO GENERAL, ORGANIC, AND BIOCHEMISTRY, ORGANIC CHEMISTRY, and several Laboratory Manuals. He is also the author of EXPERIMENTAL PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY and co-author of numerous monographs and research articles. Professor Bettelheim received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis.

It was very easy to read and understand and some of the problems in the back of the chapter took the information to a more advanced level, if the teacher wanted to use them. The topics in this manuscript are much more clearly presented than our current text, without extraneous information, and the examples are very relevant to the text. Also, the Chemical Connections are interesting and will bring home the usefulness of the information to the students. I think students would enjoy this textbook for its clear explanations and interesting information."
