Some rhymes are quite successful: Red-hot sun sinks away./Fiery clouds fade to gray. Others are confusing: We cross the field of bushes, stumps;/I climb gray rocks like whaleback humps. Blues, purples, and greens dominate the paintings to illustrate the quiet stroll at dusk. The images expand on the text and reveal an intimate summertime ritual.
