Ages 3^-6. After noticing a fancy new wheelbarrow (actually a baby buggy) parked in the yard, hen Minerva Louise wanders into a nearby house. When she spots a rabbit hutch (crib) inside, she concludes that a new bunny must be around, but she can't find it under the workbench (changing table) or in the cozy little nest (diaper bag). Wandering back outside, she sees the farmers (parents) pushing the wheelbarrow. Still hoping to find the bunny, she peers inside the wheelbarrow, totally ignoring the live infant to rejoice at the sight of the stuffed bunny the child holds in its arms. The appealing illustrations parade snow white Minerva Louise through a series of scenes filled with bright, familiar objects that children will instantly recognize, allowing them to be a step ahead of Minerva and in on the joke.
