"The Schmidt Texas text is an excellent work. It is well written, comprehensive, generally well organized, and stylishly presented"
"Hands-down this is one of the best textbooks on Texas government that I have perused in recent years. It deserves to be in a university classroom given its content, pedagogical presentation, and clarity of the material presented. ....First, the material has substance and is covered in-depth. The tables and figures are good and useful"
"Excellent and up-to-date coverage of current issues and controversies."
"I like the overall content of the Schmidt textbook. The authors provide an excellent overview of key concepts that establish a political literacy necessary for students to understand American and Texas Politics."
