Así se expresa respecto á ¡la Academia de Bruselas y de su digno director el erudito brigadier de ingenieros D. José Almirante en su Diccionario militar; mas por las últimas pala bras que de él he copiado, y por el artículo que en su Biblio grafia militar le dedica, se viene en conocimiento de que á la fecha de la publicacion de ambas obras no se conocían apenas datos biográficos y auténticos del famoso restaurador de las ciencias militares. Ni tengo tampoco noticia de que sean conocidos, como justamente merecen serlo de todo es pañol amante de las glorias de su' patria, los nobles y gene rasos esfuerzos que D. Sebastian hizo para elevar su Aca demia al grado de esplendor y fama a que a costa de su vis ta y de su fortuna consiguió elevarla.
