Fox, a travel writer for the Washington Post , and Radin-Fox, a photographer/writer, explore the Hawaiian islands in search of new and exotic romantic spots for the mainland weary. The husband and wife team give island-by-island descriptions of sights, restaurants, bed and breakfasts, and hotels along with interesting island facts and trivia. However, they reveal little that is new, and the book appears to be a rehash of material in the better guides to Hawaii. The title is misleading, too, since the narrative does not suggest nor recommend accommodations or services geared specifically to lovers or newlyweds. For example, it is not mentioned that the Island of Kauai is world famous as a wedding site; Fern Grotto, the top spot for nuptials, is omitted entirely. Libraries would be better served by purchasing J.D. Bisgnani's Hawaii Handbook (Moon Pubns., 1990) and David Zurick's Hawaii, Naturally ( LJ 7/90). Not recommended.
