Horace: A Life - Hardcover
An incisive and readable biography of the poet Horace. It is the first popular biography to have been written since the 1950s and looks at his life, contemporary Italy, his artistic development and his philosophy. Throughout, quotations are translated, sometimes using standard editions, sometimes they are Levi's own.

About the Author:
Peter Levi, a frequent contributor to The New York Review of Books is a former Professor of Poetry at University of Oxford. He is author and editor of more than 40 books.
