Book Description Hardback. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. First Edition. LAST POST Spike Mays. Eyre Methuen, London 1974 First edition ISBN 0413283402 210pp Illustrated Hardback. This copy is in fine unmarked condition tight, bright, white and square. The unclipped dust wrapper is a trifle sunned to the spine but is otherwise fine and has been covered in removable clear protective film. This volume details the author's career as public relations officer at Heathrow Airport but perhaps the most fascinating aspect of this memoir is his relationship with the charismatic and eccentric Lt Col A D Wintle who was once his commanding officer in the Royal Dragoons. It was Mays who supported Wintle in his singularly unique historic appeal to the House of Lords in defence of his action against a crooked solicitor in the matter of a family will. He was also his only mourner at his funeral. Ref DD3. Seller Inventory # 009986
