About the Author:
Lynn Abbey is the author of six historical fantasy novels, including JERLAYNE, OUT OF TIME, and BEHIND TIME, and the Rifkind series classics DAUGHTER OF THE BRIGHT MOON and THE BLACK FLAME. She is perhaps best known as the co-creator and co-editor (with ex-husband Robert Asprin) of the THIEVIES' WORLD anthology series

When the emboldened outlaws amass to attack the manor, Stephen gets word to his people, who come to the aid of the Saxons, their erstwhile enemies. The magic sprinkled through the book is as weak as the sketchy illustrations, but young readers with a romantic bent might enjoy this.
