Dear Reader:

I have to confess--I’m a reality show junkie. I’ve watched the greats and the stinkers, been enthralled by The Mole and disappointed by Joe Millionaire II. So when Harlequin gave me a shot at writing my very first single-title length romance novel, you can bet the reality show idea popped into my mind.

There was someone else who’d been occupying my mind a lot, too.

Mick Winchester is a guy I’ve wanted since I first wrote about him in my 10/03 Temptation, Trick Me Treat Me. (Jared & Gwen’s story.) He was so unrepentently wicked, so sexy and playful and...just bad...that I found him irresistible. When he popped up again in my novella Thrill Me, (Sophie & Daniel’s story) which appeared in a Harlequin book called Reading Between The Lines in 1/04, I knew he had to have his own story.

So I had the story. I had the hero. And, because of those previous books set in wacky little Derryville, IL, I had the perfect small town location for my reality show.

It just remained to find the perfect woman, that blend of sexy, sassy, smart and strong, who could not only capture a man like Mick, but also hold onto him. TV producer Caroline Lamb is just such a woman. Mick might be too hot to handle, but Caroline likes things hot.

Their story was such a thrill to write. I got to play with all the twists and turns of the reality show, with some of my favorite characters ever, and even my first murder!

I hope it makes you laugh. I hope you can’t put it down. I hope Mick makes you hot and Caroline makes you cheer.

More than anything I hope I give you a few hours of real reading pleasure. That’s all any writer can ask for.
