Authentic and apocryphal anecdotes about the American movie industry and various aspects of American filmmaking

From Library Journal:
Boller and Davis have compiled an amusing book. Film history is interspersed with familiar anecdotal stories, and most of these have been taken from readily identifiable texts. Davis heads the Oral History Program on the Performing Arts at Southern Methodist University. More use of his own sources would have been preferable. As per usual for this type of book, emphasis is on Hollywood's "golden years" and "legends." The bibliography is good for basic texts on film and actors; in fact it is one of the better things in the book. There is little reference value here. Recommended for small film collections but not for reference. Paula M. Zieselman, Sarah Lawrence Coll. Lib., Bronxville, N.Y.
