Book condition very good, corners and spine ends a little rubbed, previous owner's nameplate to the front paste-down, pages are slightly toned otherwise clean throughout. Dust jacket condition very good plus, edges curled a little, edges rubbed, spine a little sunned, not price clipped. This is a presentation copy from Virgil Thomson to his friend Author Jonathan Mayne. Loosely inserted are a letter from the publisher to Mayne sent with the book saying that Thomson has personally instructed them to send him a copy. And also 5 handwritten and signed notes from Thomson to Mayne, two are Christmas postcards and two are postcards and one is a brief handwritten thank you note on Thomson's notepaper.
