During their thirteen years in power, Slobodan Milosevic and his cohorts plunged Yugoslavia into wars of ethnic cleansing, leading to the murder of thousands of civilians. Sabrina P. Ramet is professor of political science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, and a research associate at the Science and Research Center of the Republic of Slovenia, Koper. Vjeran Pavlakovic is a doctoral candidate in history at the University of Washington and former Fulbright fellow at the University of Zagreb in Croatia.
