Read over and over again the first chapter of Genesis, and try to apprehend the dignity and grandeur of that account of creation, and of the universal plan for procreation. Remember that in the sight of Him with whom one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day, nothing that He established is common, unclean, or unimportant. We should ever keep in mind the fact that a normal unfolding of the reproductive sphere 13 1177 J is necessary to the symmetrical, ideal development of each individual. The propagation of our species is the highest, the divinest act of our physical life; in its hest expression is the most beneficent of all our varied functions. The emotions and impulses which belong to the legitimate fields of reproductive activity are the highest, purest, and noblest experiences of which our earthly life is capable. Such ideals are realized, I am persuaded, by a few of the children of men. It is to be hoped that their number will rapidly increase.
