THE UNIVERSITY FINANCES From The President's Report The Financial Report, showing in detail the operations for the year ending June 30, 1916, and the condition of the University finances on that date, has been published, and copies may be obtained from the Treasurer, W. Graham Boyce, by those interested. The President in his annual report which has just gone to press includes the following summary bearing on the Financial Report and on University Finances, in general: Income and expense for the year The operation of the year resulted in an excess of expenditures over income of.. $71,025.59 On Philosophical and Collegiate account.. $43,368.95 and on Medical School Account.. 28,556.64 The excess for the preceding year was 64,115.55 For Philosophical and Collegiate Depart-ments $41,188.12 For the Medical School 22,927.43 An increase this year of $7,810.04 It will be noted that the deficit on the Philosophical and Collegiate account increased during the year as compared with the year before 2,180.83 And the deficit in the Medical School increased $ 5,629.21 Making a net increase as above of 7,810.04 The Total income from operations for the year was... $565,699.50 An increase this year of 44,493.81 This increase came from the following sources: Tuition $ 2,160.70 Income from Invested Funds 22,215.69 State of Md.
