Review:

“Based on my reading of four chapters, the new edition of the Wade text is as interesting and easy to read as one ought to expect based on all of the outstanding prior versions of the book. As always, this textbook provides essential information about psychology, humanity, and science in a way that is both engaging and entertaining.”

--Jason P. Leboe, University of Manitoba

“The chapters are engaging and fun to read with an excellent emphasis on critical thinking. The chapters have a little bit in them for all levels of students. The authors have an elegant writing style with a good sense of humour and I think students would be motivated to read the text.”

--Lisa Sinclair, University of Winnipeg

“The authors use several real-life Canadian stories to illustrate psychological concepts, thereby bringing the material alive for students and making them feel connected to it.  They have done an excellent job of fine-tuning the information without neglecting current, relevant empirical research.”

--Giselle Kolaric, Thompson Rivers University

“This text provides students with a thorough introduction to contemporary psychological science. The authors emphasize the importance of critical thinking, and unlike some texts that claim to emphasize critical thinking, Wade et al. encourage readers to exercise their critical thinking skills several times each chapter. It’s a text that challenges pop psych and psychobabble and demonstrates how to apply the findings of cognitive science to everyday life in the real-world.”
