About the Author:

Anna Kotzeva practices in the area of immigration and asylum law, as well as general common law. She has advised the Home Office Immigration and Nationality Department on large-scale asylum projects, new processes with regard to the implementation of the Human Rights Act 1998, and immigration and asylum legislation. She has extensive experience in presenting asylum and human rights appeals on behalf of asylum seekers and on behalf of the Secretary of State. Anna's articles on asylum and human rights issues have been published in the Solicitors Journal and she is the author of the public law section of Law Brief Update, an on-line newsletter. Robin Tam is Treasury Counsel on the Attorney General's A Panel. He has a substantial judicial review and administrative law practice, in which immigration, asylum and national security play a prominent part. Robin has appeared in numerous cases before the Court of Appeal and the House of Lords, including the recent cases of R (Iran) and ors v SSHD [2005] EWCA Civ 982, R (Kadir) v SSHD [2005] UKHL 39, and A and others v SSHD (No 2) (CA) [2005] 1 WLR 414. The Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 directories identify Robin Tam as one of the leading juniors in the asylum and immigration field.
