Peter Cane taught law at Corpus Christi College, Oxford for twenty years. Since 1997, he has been Professor of Law in the Research School of Social Sciences at the Australian National University. His main research interests are in public law (especially administrative law) and the law of
obligations (especially tort law). Mark Tushnet has taught at Georgetown University Law Center since 1981. He served as a law clerk to Justice Thurgood Marshall of the United States Supreme Court in 1972-73, after which he began teaching at the University of Wisconsin Law School. He has published
widely in American legal history and U.S. constitutional law. His most recent book is The New Constitutional Order (2002).
