The first Canadian edition of Health & Physical Assessment in Nursing was written to allow undergraduate nursing students to perform a physical examination while keeping the whole person in mind. The authors accomplished this by focusing their revision on three key areas of physical examination: Health History, Social and Ethnocultural Considerations, and Health Promotion.

Review:

“I like the outline and user friendliness of the book. The terms are clear and easy to follow. Objectives are measurable and clear.” — Professor, Algonquin College

“I think one of the most important strengths that your text has is that it keeps the notion of cultural differences in the forefront. Canada is a multicultural country and as such, the student may meet many patients from all over the world and they need to be aware how the genetic background, nutrition, etc. can affect what they will see when doing a physical assessment. The second strength has to be the critical thinking application questions. They are superb and as I noted above, they have many different applications. Production of a book that has applications in more than one way is very much appreciated by students and staff alike” — Carolyn J. Rivard, Fanshawe College
