From School Library Journal:
YA After examining hundreds of stories of lost treasures from around the world, Haydock has chosen 15 which are based on firm factual and historical evidence. He describes the background of the burial or loss of each treasure, recounts previous searches, and suggests the best way to search for the hidden wealth. Maps, photographs, and documentation accompany each story. The introduction contains a partial code of conduct for treasure seekers. Only two of the treasures are located in the United States (Superstition Mountain in Arizona and Montvale in Virginia). Treasure Trove is a fascinating account that will be excellent for booktalking, and which should move well because of the title and the subject. After all, what teen doesn't dream of instant wealth, of finding thousands of dollars in gold or jewels? Kathryn Dunn, PGCMLS, Md.
