PreSchool-K--Rabbit Rambles On, boasting to his incredulous friends, Duck and Frog, about being able to balance chocolate sandwiches on his nose and juggling abilities. When he is asked to prove his claims, Rabbit always has an excuse. Finally the two trick the braggart and leave him suspended on the up end of a seesaw until he promises to ``stop making things up.'' They all agree to go to Rabbit's house for chocolate sandwiches, and the irrepressible big talker is back to his old tricks. Frog and Duck can't stand Rabbit's mindless boasting, so why should children be forced to suffer through it? He doesn't learn anything from his lesson, and neither will readers. Too bad Gretz's large, colorful, and appealing characters don't have more going for them in the way of story and conversation; the illustrations are wasted on the senseless text. --Nancy A.
